ABOUT MAGGIE! HER OPINIONS.
These are issues that really vex me, and I stand 100% behind what I say here. I stand my ground when it comes to my opinions.

ABORTION
I am pro-life. I don't think abortion is ever necessary. In my opinion, there is very rarely an excuse for killing, especially not an innocent, unborn child. The waiting list to adopt is 4.4 years, and if we lessened the number of abortions in this country, there would be less killing, more life, and more happy families, who otherwise, would not have existed. Research shows that less than 2% of unplanned pregnancies are induced by rape or incest, and that is still not an excuse. I don't think the nine months of pregnancy a woman would have to endure is worth a lifetime of knowing she killed her child. In cases other than rape, well, I think that's just totally irresponsible. Use the right birth control, and you won't get pregnant, therefore, will not have to consider an abortion. Even if your birth control is faulty, take some responsibility. If you deem yourself mature enough to have sex, you should be mature enough to handle the possibility of becoming a parent.

GAY MARRIAGE
I don't care what the Bible says about it, there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. Times have changed since two-thousand plus years ago, get over it. You don't see people protesting for the right to stone their children still, do you now?

People are programmed to love and lust, and obviously, not everyone is programmed the same, and there is nothing wrong with that. Being straight myself, I can't see why other heterosexuals get so irate when it comes to the issue of gay marriage. It really shouldn't be any of their business. No one's throwing tantrums to try to stop your marriage, so why do you feel the need to butt into other peoples' love lives? I don't see how gay marriage would hurt anyone. People need to learn to actually accept new ideas and stop being so close-minded.

GOD
While I haven't been baptised into any religion, I spent ten years at Catholic school, so, have been taught about Christianity my whole life. Not that I plan on ever being Catholic, because I don't agree with it, I do believe in God, and I do believe in Jesus Christ. Maybe not in the conventional way, though. I don't necessarily believe everything the Bible tells us about him. I believe that his teachings of love and acceptance are a great thing to accept, and the best guidline for life. I believe there is a God who is watching over us and hopefully, we'll all go to heaven one day. I do believe in heaven. I don't know if I believe in hell. Perhaps a penance of some sort, but I don't know if that many people have done enough to merit an eternity of suffering. I do hope there's no hell, because I hate to see suffering, but I just don't know. That's what faith is, I suppose. Not knowing, but believing.

SELF-INJURY
I know about self-injury firsthand. It's not something suicidal, and it's not attention-seeking, contrary to popular belief. In my experience at least, it comes as an impulse at times where a person is most weak, in pain, in my case, mentally. You can't control the pain that other people put on you, but you can control the pain that you put on yourself. It's actually comforting to know that there are levels of your own suffering that you can control. Other times, it's to mask the pain that's afflicting you at the moment. DOn't want to think about your stupid friend who makes you feel like shit all the time, or your parents who just constantly critisize you about everything, bringing your self-worth to an alltime low? Just whip out your razor, your nails, your whatever, and hit the skin. You forget all about your problems, if only for a while.

I don't think it's the right thing to do, but I can't say that it's the worst thing you could do, either. Let your feelings out in a journal or a tp counselor, but not on yourself. I know where self-injurers are coming from, but I think it's wrong. In a way, it's a very easy way out. Learn to deal with your problems someplace else.
